Applying Big Data Analytics in Higher Education

Higher education systems (HES) have become increasingly absorbed in applying big data analytics due to competition as well economic pressures. Many studies been conducted that applied HES; however, a systematic review (SR) of the research is scarce. In this paper, authors mapping study address deficiency. The qualitative and quantitative analysis resulted highlighting progression over last decade, identification three major themes, 12 subthemes, 10 motivation factors, challenges, categories tools support techniques, 16 models for higher education. This result contributes ongoing on HES. It provides better understanding level contribution identifies gaps future direction.
